Summary This article is a review of the current state of knowledge about possibilities of clinical use of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors in different areas of psychopharmacotherapy. The authors presented information about pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic differences between SSRI's, and described emerging clinical consequences. The paper contains data about the most common and typical side effects and possible drug interactions. The reports and information about new therapeutic proposals concerning SSRI's are also discussed. |
